The City of Westminster commissioned the design and construction of a portion of the Little Dry Creek trail in 1995 between Lowell Blvd and West 76th Avenue. We performed the entire civil design, pedestrian underpass design with associated walls and drainage, grading and hydrologic modeling, and takings delineation. These services were performed while working at Loris and Associates of Boulder, CO.
Critical issues were reducing the impact on Little Dry Creek and minimizing takings from neighboring land owners along the trail corridor. Coordination with the City of Westminster was very important as other phases of the trail were being planned. A HEC-RAS model of hydrological impacts was created to quantify the impacts on the creek watershed at the bridge underpasses.
