ABOUT US
Odisea is a team of engineers who are part of a larger group of extremely talented consultancies and design firms. The nature of development in any form includes the need to collaborate, which in turn provides fresh ideas and energy into our projects. Odisea is a close partner with SEI Professional Services, an affiliate of Solar Energy International, focused on the engineering of commercial and utility-scale solar photovoltaic power plants across the U.S.
Jeff Ruppert, P.E.
Jeff founded Odisea in 2000. Jeff has been instrumental in the development of straw bale construction and the implementation of natural building materials and systems in North American and abroad. He is a founding member of the Natural Building Alliance in teh Rocky Mountain region (formerly the Colorado Straw Bale Association), a former Executive Board member of Architects, Designers and Planners for Social Responsibility, and has taught and lectured on the subject of codes and their inclusion of natural building materials. As a licensed Professional Engineer in over 25 states he has influenced hundreds of projects by performing roles from general contractor to civil and structural engineer. Jeff spent two and half years in Afghanistan working as a mentor and contract manager where he met his wife and Principal partner Lucy Hunter.
Jeff is also the CEO at SEI Professional Services where he participates in the design of large-scale solar power plants with a dedicated, world-class team of electrical engineers and designers.
Lucille Hunter, P.E.
Lucy brings a strong background in multiple engineering disciplines. Lucy brings a wide variety of engineering and management skills from environmental and structural engineering to the design, engineering, and construction of multimillion dollar installations in contingency environments.
Her design experience includes contaminated groundwater and soils remediation, hazardous waste site investigation and remediation, environmental site assessments, landfill monitoring, soils hydrologic reports, and structural design of high-end residential and commercial structures located in high snow load and high seismic activity regions. She has also managed a group of 40 engineers and architects conducting the design and engineering of installations that include buildings and infrastructure such as roads, bridges, power plants, potable water supply and treatment, and wastewater treatment systems.
Given her technical background and broad multidisciplinary experience, Lucy is capable of understanding multiple site constraints and integrating the best solutions. She is results and client oriented with an appreciation of the importance of completing projects on time and within budget.
Lucy is licensed as a Professional Engineer in Colorado, California and Arizona and is the majority owner of Odisea.
